Is this the world’s largest Remington percussion cap revolver? Sgt. Wayne Swiers was recently seen lugging this on the field. Could cause a lot of back problems.
So if you’re short of soldiers and want to do a full sized company drill what do you do? The IGs came up with the answer at Boone, NC, July 2009. Capt. George Hatcher is front and center.
Who would of thought that Pvt. Robert Johnston would have made such a good looking corpse. He’s dead on the field during Sunday’s battle.

Another man is down from chronic problems. Wayne Swiers will not be attending the Ft. Fisher event. Send him an e-mail wishing him a speedy recovery.
Well, the secret behind my back problems is out now, Col. Of course, pulling the trigger on that thing while standing behind it results in the mother of all headaches, too.
Hey guys? Why is no one posting on the Ig website about Bentonville?
Bentonville was a great time. Those who weren’t there missed a good event, possibly one of the best in several years, and definately the best in the last four Bentonville’s that I have attended.
For photos of the event, go to the links below. The IGs are in the first link. These photos were taken on Sunday after we had dug and gathered trees for our works. The second link pictures were taken on Saturday and show a number of re-enactors including the Iron Grays.

It was great to get back on the field again, and to spend some time with my pards that I haven’t seen in too long. As close to perfect weather as you could ask for, great food (and plenty of it), someone new to “break in”, and the best pards possible – who could ask for more? Oh yeah, and literary highlights scattered througout the weekend.
Did anyone get the link(s) to the photographer that spent time around us? He took a lot of pictures and it would be nice to see some of them.
Looking forward to Waxhaw and Kings Mtn.
Ft. Branch is rapidly approaching. We’ve got eleven men who’ve signified they will attend. Come on boys, lets get the chatter going.

Well, after a long winter things are looking up for a fine 1861. Looking forward to a get weekend at King’s Mountain to kick off the summer.
